11-Year-Old Homeless Boy Rescues a Puppy, Gets Rescued By It Unexpectedly

When we see street pooches, some may really get emotional just seeing them, thinking that they are not well-fed. What is even more heartbreaking is seeing a child being homeless, unable to complete his supposedly three meals and have a suitable shelter for him or her. However, seeing a puppy and a boy just on the sidewalk, homeless and unsure as to what would happen next, would be the most heartbreaking.

A photographer, Maria Kabs came to see the most heartbreaking sight one can see in Quezon City, Philippines. The very things that captured her attention were a little boy and his puppy. The little boy seemed homeless, she was not even sure as to when was his last full meal. The boy, Rommel Quemenales and his puppy, Badgi, apparently, were wanderers of streets. Technically, Rommel rescued Badgi from a lonely life alone. However, Badgi also has rescued Rommel from the lonely street wanderings. Together, they were a family. Maria was so amazed by the two different being’s affection towards each other. Rommel was a homeless kid, he sure has nothing to offer to his puppy. But it was affection that made Badgi stay, and they are now inseparable.

Maria’s post about these two has garnered a lot of attention from the internet. Poor Rommel was forced to quit school after finishing his second grade. He had a sister living in another town whom he visits whenever he has extra money. But with his life’s condition, that would really be a rare occurrence. His goal every single day was just to fill his and Badgi’s tummy. This 11-year-old boy did not want anything but to go back to school.

In this video, he was able to talk about his life, his struggles. We know for a fact that pooches play a great role in our lives. But this particular story will take “that role” to a whole new level. Watch Rommel’s story here:
