Adopting a kid can be a really tough decision to make. It is a kind of parenting wherein you really get to choose who would you going to take as a kid. Imagine, looking at numbers of kids, and you take one kid for no particular reason. Let us accept the fact that some parents would love to adopt a cute and healthy kid. And there is no problem in there! But it takes a lot of courage and love for someone to adopt an imperfect kid, willing to give him or her the perfect love he or she needs.
The couple, Chris and Eryn Austin, was looking for a kid to adopt. There came a time when they felt like they needed to expand their family. While most couples are looking for the perfect child. This couple, the moment they saw Primrose’s photo on Facebook, they both knew that she was the one. Apparently, the Primrose was diagnosed with a case of congenital glaucoma and a hearing disability when she was born. With her condition, no parent took the courage to take her in. The poor little girl then was sent to a local orphanage in her Chinese village. But God surely has greater plans! Chris and Eryn immediately wanted Primrose to be the newest member of their family. With her condition not being treated, her eyes became silver in color, sure she looked a lot more special than that of the others.
“I’ve cried the last two holiday seasons because I knew she was in a crib somewhere waiting, but she’s home now.”
“When I saw the picture on Facebook, I don’t understand why. I don’t have any explanation. But when I look at her eyes, I saw that’s everything about her that brought us together,” Eryn Austin.
“We knew from the point that we saw her picture that we wanted her. And she was our daughter,” Chris Austin.
This was a big leap of faith for Chris and Eryn. Together with Primrose’s two siblings, they make a nice, happy family. God is indeed good, all the time!
