When our pets are sick, it feels like our real human beings family are sick. We feel for them, and our hearts break seeing them in pain. So when Lily and adorable Golden Retriever started feeling weak, her human parents were both surprised and terrified at the same time, for it was not like the usual her. As her weakness continued, they then took poor Lily to the nearest emergency veterinarian’s office. After a thorough check-up, the vet told them one heartbreaking news.
Apparently, the golden retriever had a huge mass on her stomach that looked a lot like a common type of canine cancer called hemangiosarcoma. According to caninecancer.com, Hemangiosarcoma in dogs is an aggressive, malignant tumor of blood vessel cells. With the exception of the skin form of hemangiosarcoma, a diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma is serious. Because these tumors start in blood vessels, they are frequently filled with blood and when a blood-filled tumor ruptures, it can cause problems with internal or external bleeding.
The vet gave the family just two options, an immediate surgery to remove and test the mass, or to put Lily to sleep. Any pooch who experiences this may say goodbye to the world in the most abrupt way. Knowing this, the family immediately prepared enough money for Lily’s surgery. They were informed that even after the tumor was removed, there was no guarantee that it was not cancerous. The veterinary team then carefully removed 6-pound mass from Lily’s stomach. The tumor ran some series of tests. So when the results of the tests arrived, Lily’s parents had her listen to the results herself.
And it was a big NEGATIVE! But it was not the whole of the story yet. It was how the adorable pooch accepted the news that was lighting up the internet. It seemed like she was as happy as her human family was. This surely was an amazing moment for Lily and her family. Watch this big good news and prepare yourself for a big smile!
