There will come a time when we get to question our real happiness. Are we in the place where we ought to be? It is undeniably hard to go up the stage, doing something that we really want. But surely, it is a lot harder get another chance to perform on stage after a break. Even if we do not belong to the musical world, we would know for sure how difficult it is to go back on track after going away from the limelight.
Lifford Shillingford was one courageous man. He did not just go back to singing as how he used to be, he did it through the most difficult talent reality show everyone would know, Britain’s Got Talent. Apparently, Lifford was a part of an English garage band named Artful Dodger. Together with his partner, they toured across the country, performing and enjoying their music together. However, like many other musicians, there came a time when they had to end what they were doing. But Lifford’s passion for music did not even once run out. And that love and passion for music were the very things he used to go back on track through BGT.
Like everyone who enters the competition, Lifford prayed for their yeses and approvals. And more than anything else, he prayed for everyone’s smiles as he introduced his music to all of them. His voice filled the room as he sang his version of “A Change Is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. Every single person may have known by now that it was a hard song to sing. Amazingly, Lifford did not just get the approval of the audience, he also got an all-four standing ovations from the BGT judges.
Judge Alesha Dixon did not just stand for him. She even pressed her one and only golden buzzer! And that made him get his ticket to the live shows. His voice was undeniably amazing. And in an instant, the room was just filled with emotions and beautiful music. Watch Lifford’s incredible audition song here:
