Mom And Son Spots A Floridian Man’s Car, Did Something Unexpected For Him

Drive-thru was first pioneered by American Jordan Martin in 1930’s. The sole objective of it was to allow consumers to purchase products, especially ready-to-go food, without leaving their cars. Up to this day, it has been a trend, not just in the U.S., but all over the world. Who would not want to try it, especially that it is less of a hassle and that it can save you much energy doing so? When you go to the drive-thru, you surely do not expect to witness something odd from it. It is as simple as driving, ordering, paying, then getting the orders. But this mom and son experienced something entirely different from the usual “drive-thru scene.

Tara Routzong, together with son Landon, witnessed something which was supposedly usual, yet their reaction has been the complete opposite. Apparently, the two were in the drive-thru of the local Chick-fil-A when they came to read something that was written in the car in front of them. The license plate had, in fact, “Florida” written in it. They were overwhelmed as well as heartbroken at the sight of a Floridian man. That particular scene happened after Hurricane Irma flooded Florida. Tara and Landon then decided to do something for the strange Floridian.
Tara later shared what happened next, on her Facebook page, saying:
“[Landon and I] went to Chick Fil A for lunch today because, yum. Landon saw the car in front of us was from Florida (we have been talking about Irma today) and he declared we were paying for their meal – and I agreed.
But how do you pay for the car in front of you?
You run toward their window with a debit card in hand and scare the mess out of them!”

The two did not expect how appreciative the man was.
“Landon and I both had tears in our eyes from how appreciative he was.”
“The man has left his home in Miami and was passing through to go stay with family in Birmingham. I told him we hoped he returned to his house untouched and that we’d keep him in our thoughts.”

Though the two could not change how devastated Florida was that time, they surely made one Floridian’s day instantly better, full of hope and smile. We should all make a change while we can!
