The fourteenth season of The Voice USA started airing on February 26 this year. The coaches, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were joined by a new coach, and the original Idol, Kelly Clarkson. Completing the four, coach Alicia Keys went back to join the club. From the blind auditions, each coach completed 12 members for their teams.
After almost three months of airing, they are down to the top four! The finalists have been revealed in their last episode. It was apparent that coach Blake already has the edge against the other teams with the two of his team members entering the final round. Coach Adam, on the other hand, failed to have a member of his team enter the finals. After many episodes and levels of the competition they have been through, four excellent artists went in for the finals.
Kyla Jade of team Blake went in. She first impressed Coach Blake and Coach Kelly with her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “See Saw”. Many of us would know how difficult of it is to perform an Aretha Franklin song, but the 33-year-old singer pulled it off like it was the easiest thing to sing! She made a huge impact on the coaches and to the audience as she talked about her day job. Apparently, she was a background singer for Jennifer Hudson, who also was a coach at The Voice. Her incredible version of The Beatles’ “Let it be” made it possible to get a key to the finals.
There is no Team Blake if there is no country singer going into the finals. Team Blake’s country and soul singer Spensha Baker also went on it, together with her teammate Kyla. After singing The Beatles’ “Blackbird” on her blind audition, she impressed both Coach Kelly and Blake. But as the audition progressed, she still chose to go with the country music man in the show, Coach Blake. After many performances in the show, her latest performance of Maren Morris’ “My Church” made her way to the finals. The 24-year-old Texan is on The Voice finale representing Team Blake.
Another finalist was Britton Buchanan who will be representing Team Alicia. He first made a huge noise in the crowd as he auditioned with Ray LaMontagne’s “Trouble”. With his guitar with him, he impressed Coach Blake, Adam, and Alicia. But with the newest mechanic in the show which we all would probably know by now, Blake blocked Adam to let him lose the chance of getting the then 17-year-old as his team member. His latest performance was Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising” which made him go through to the finals.
Last but definitely not the least was Team Kelly’s, Brynn Cartelli. Brynn was undeniably the youngest one to audition this season. The 14-year-old singer auditioned with her heartfelt rendition of Labrinth’s “Beneath Your Beautiful”. With her amazing rendition of the said song, she immediately became the crowd favorite. She was undeniably an amazing singer. In fact, she was the very first artist to whom new coach, Kelly Clarkson has turned for. Her another soulful and heartfelt performance of Jackie DeShannon’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love” made her way through the finale. If she goes through, she may be the youngest The Voice US!
