When you are already a mother, all you think is the welfare of your kids, how they study, what kind of food they take in, and how well they grow. All you pray for is that they will grow with respect, love, and compassion towards other people. For mom Jodie Johnson, one specific event made her realize that it is still worth it to teach young kids about how they should act.
It all happened when Jodie and one of her kids, an 8-year-old Jaron went to a Local Walmart to buy groceries for home. As they were walking down aisles at the Walmart, Jaron spotted a green piece of paper on the floor. At first, he thought that it was just an ordinary piece of paper which fell off from any of the bags of goodies there. But as he walked further, he then realized that it was a hundred dollar bill! Not one but “one hundred” dollar bill. Apparently, an 86-year old shopper named James Grice was looking for it. It was not until he reached the counter to pay that he realized that his cash went missing.
The elderly man shared what happened to KALB News, saying:
“When I walked outside of the store I said lord let somebody that really needs that money, find it. When I turn things over to the Lord, I don’t fool with it anymore.”
Jodie let his son decide with regards to what happened, and on their way home, Jaron made up his mind.
“We talked about it on the way home, you know, people work hard for their money. I was immediately proud of him. He’s a great kid, he has amazing character. He does the right thing even when no one is looking.”
Jaron was sure that the money was not his.
“I gave it to my mom and then the next day when we woke up I reminded her to call Walmart to see if anyone reported it.”
And everything went well after that. Fortunately, James reported his missing amount of money to the staffs of the Walmart and they were all united because of it. Jaron became an inspiration to everyone, that not all people are bad. There are still people or kids who grow up nicely and with respect towards other people. The 86-year-old James then shared to KALB News:
“That child right there, he’s 100 percent to me.”
He then gave the little boy a 20-dollar bill for his kindness. Praise God for kids like Jaron!
