There are certain happenings in our lives that we can never stop. Tragic accidents happen every minute from all over the world. These are the moments that people do not want to happen to happen to their friends and families, let alone to themselves. For Aimee Green, it was the most unexpected day of her life when it just started to a usual day out with her boyfriend. She has set herself to run errands for the day. But instead of doing so, she and her boyfriend experienced a horrific car accident.
God surely made a miracle in their lives, saving them from any type of injury. They got out of the car unharmed. But with the standard operating procedures, they were still sent to the nearest hospital for a routine evaluation. And part of it was an MRI. However, instead of hearing that they were totally fine, the doctor even announced a life-risking medical fact about Aimee. The revelation has then threatened her life. On her interview with People, Aimee shared this emotionally, saying:
“We had no broken bones and no severe injuries. We both came out of it okay. But during the routine CT scan, they found abnormalities in my brain…
Later that night, around midnight, they told me, ‘I’m sorry, you have a brain tumor.'”
With that huge of a news being announced, instead of rejoicing after the accident, Aimee started struggling to cope up. Her form of treatment was not designed yet, but the doctors prepared her for a probable surgery. Without it, it would be impossible to see if the tumor was cancerous or not.
“You hear all these sad stories and all this stuff happens to other people, you never really take the time to think this could actually happen to me.
It’s so stressful. I just find myself a lot more depressed lately and a lot more down. I’m really, really hard on myself. I used to be really productive and had lots of goals. Now I sit at home and I’m not able to complete a task or a simple goal…
It’s really discouraging and really, really emotional. It just gets me down. I still can’t wrap my head around this and believe it’s all happening to me. I’m only 24 and I haven’t traveled the world, or even been to Disneyland yet. Not having support from my family hasn’t been the greatest. I only have my boyfriend to support [me] right now. It’s definitely tough on the both of us.”
Luckily, she does not have “just her boyfriend” as what she thought it to be. Her close friends initiated to start a GoFundMe page to help her with her medical expenses. Like her friends, all we pray is for her to be strong and courageous at this point in time.
